Hey Ford dealers…
Ford Motor Company is doing their due diligence to retain happy customers on your behalf. Are you helping the cause or dropping the ball? Check out the email template and phone script below to help with the Ford Private Offer inquiries.
If you’re unaware, Ford is sending out “Ford Private Offers” to targeted Ford owners in your area with additional discounts. This direct mail piece involves information on current models, along with a card offering an additional discount on any new offer above and beyond the manufacturer’s regional incentive. In other words, it is an opportunity for prospective buyers (that are already Ford owners) to trade up and receive a second discount above the rebate (and before any markdown your dealer is offering).
Simply put, you need to reinforce this offer on behalf of the OEM. When signed up, Ford provides you the list of the customers that have received a Ford Private Offer in your area, along with any contact information they have for the customer. If Ford is drumming up interest for your inventory, in your market, you need to have your own contact strategy to emphasize the value of this deal. DealerKnows has been implementing a contact process inside all of our Ford dealers and have seen excellent results converting these customers into new sales.
This process includes calls and emails to use in conjunction with the direct mail offer from the OEM. As an example…

Retaining customers is a key element to long-term profitability so don’t count on the manufacturer to do it all for you. Ford dealers must get involved in making Ford Private Offers a part of their own team’s marketing efforts. The email template and phone script provided above are just the tip of the iceberg to the 140+ marketing messages and call guides we implement in the CRMs of our dealer clients. If you want to incorporate a new process, and train your team to actually use it correctly, don’t hesitate to contact DealerKnows.
I was sent this Discount Certificate/Personal Invitation back sometime. I had tossed it away with my junk mail. I am in the process of purchasing a Ford F-150 and wonder if anyone can tell me how to contact Ford to have them resend this? Thank you for your help.
Hello Steven,
Typically, Ford sends the local dealer a list of any residents in their area that received a Ford Private Offer. They should be able to obtain a copy of it for you.
I received a private cash offer (in my first name and my maiden name) and using an address other than my primary residence(My grandmother’s local street address). The dealer said that I may not be able to use it since the full name and address used must match the title *even though it is still the same person-me!) I had not idea it might matter when I made an inquiry and received the email cash offer. Can you help?
The dealer you’re speaking to should be able to check with their manufacturer rep to find a suitable solution for this, I’m sure.
I had a private offer for $750 a while back. It expired on October 31st, 2018. I had looked and was in the market for a new vehicle and did look and even had some offers. I live in Pennsylvania and backed out and decided to hang on to my vehicle through one more winter.
Very recently, I hit a deer with that vehicle. It has high mileage and will totaled by the insurance company as it isn’t worth much.
Now I’m forced to play my hand and purchase a vehicle. Wish I had that private rebate offer now.
Would Ford still honor it? Can I contact then? Would the Ford dealership have record of that private offer?
Hello Mark,
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of loyal Ford customers missing their window on their Ford Private Offer. Unfortunately we are not connected to the Ford manufacturer to assist in this, but rather help dealers with their customers that have received it. From what we can see, Ford shares your information with the Ford dealership nearest you. I’m unsure if they would be able to investigate how to acquire you another, but if you check with your local Ford dealer, they may have more insights.
Can I use a $2500 private offer at any ford dealership? The one I received it from doesn’t have an f150 set up the way I want and I found it at another dealer.
Hello Randy – I’m certain if you contact a local dealer (or the dealer you intend to purchase from), they can assist you in taking advantage of the Ford Private Offer.
I went to look at a couple F-150’s at one dealership. I am not aware of any mailer with a cash offer being sent out, but that dealer told me by looking up my address that I’m eligible for a $3,000 private cash offer. However, when I talked with a second dealership they told me that they saw no such private cash offer for me. How can the second dealer view the offer the first one has repeatedly looked up and assured me is there?
Hello Calvin,
Unfortunately, I don’t believe as many dealers are aware of the Private Offers that Ford Motor Company is sending out on their behalf, and those that are aware spend little effort connecting with the customers anyway. For that reason, I am certain many don’t know how to acquire that list. If Dealer A is able to offer you that, go with Dealer A. Sounds simple.
I received $1250 private offer ($2000 on F150, SD, or Expedition). I presented mailer to dealer after I made deal, and they told me it was already included in the price. Is this right?
Hello Matt –
Without knowing how the dealer structured the deal, I’d be remiss to guess if that was included. It would typically be a separate line-item on the buyer’s order, though. That should typically be presented right at the very beginning of engagement – and should not affect the negotiating price of the vehicle.
If I have a private offer And order a new vehicle and the vehicle is not delivered until after the expiration date of the offer is the private offer still good
Hello Ed – if you already have ordered the vehicle from your local dealer, you’ll definitely want to call them up to confirm.
Currently looking at all manufactures for a new truck, getting a private offer would defiantly put Ford ahead of the pack. How do you get one?
Great question! Unfortunately, we have no idea how the manufacturer chooses to send out private offers to their database of current Ford owners. We work alongside other manufacturers (not Ford), but mostly consult with auto dealers. What area/state do you live in? At the very least, maybe we can connect you with a trusted dealer that can take care of you with a great deal.
Received a $750 private offer on the purchase/lease of a new Ford. Asked the dealer about it and they claimed that the offer is tied to my old address and I cannot use it. I moved 5 months ago to a home 5 miles away. Are the offers really tied to an address and not the individual?
Hello Craig – While we are not employees of Ford Motor Company, we’re surprised to hear the private offers may be tied to a previous home address. We hadn’t heard that before. Allow us a little time, and I’ll ask one of our friends at Ford Motor Company.
Funny how my last 5 vehicles I bought off Ford yet I get these from the Chevy dealer Monthly it seems … In the Market for a F350 right now 🙂 …
What is this private $750 cash deal .. Does that mean its all it will cost to buy the vehicle?
Unfortunately no, Shavon. At this point, we have yet to find a way to buy a new Ford for $750.
This is nothing more than a unique loyalty rebate that Ford offers to random Ford owners toward the purchase of their next vehicle.
Still hoping to get an offer
We hope you do as well, Robert. Sadly, we don’t have any say in who receives these valuable rebates.
Myself and 3 of my friends all leased 2018 F150’s around the same time and have and are looking to lease 2021 F150’s . That being said we all received Exclusive Cash Offers from Ford Credit. Mine for example Vincent# 37874 is for $750. My question is theirs are for $3000 and I am wondering what makes them a more valuable customer to Ford by $2250 dollars (yes we all leased the same truck just different colors). I called customer service whom told me to call the marketing dept. They told me I had to reach out to the media dept. they told me I had to contact the dealer which I know isn’t true. I have also sent many emails like this one and received generic responses. I have reached out on Fords facebook page as well as messenger. Round 2 I contact customer service and they tell me I have to reach out to Ford Credit whom tells me I need to try marketing, applications, vehicle sales center. No one can answer my question and I am tired of being passed off to someone else that cant answer the question. I mean I no that I am only 1 customer but does Ford not want my business? How hard do I have to try to be equal to everyone else.
Hello Christopher,
This is not the first we’ve heard of this, and I imagine it won’t be the last. Unfortunately, we have no direct connection to Ford Motor Company, but it sounds like you’re getting the run-around, which is a shame. I wouldn’t know who the direct division is in charge of the Private Offers. I am certain they value your business and would like to reward you with the same discount as your friends. I can only assume they do it based on zip code or marketshare in specific areas. I’m guessing there has to be some rhyme or reason, right? Sadly, we don’t have any more influence than a customer ourselves, but truly do wish you the best with your next vehicle purchase.
Received a $3000 PCO that was set to expired on July 6, 2021. Purchased a vehicle that was built on June 21, 2021. The F-350 had a preview date of July 1-7, 2021. Signed all paperwork on the 6th. On the evening of the 6th, I was contacted by the dealer indicating the vehicle visibility report showed it had a new preview dates August 5-11, 2021 due to a chip shortage. I called my dealer and they spoke with their dealer representative and was informed my PCO/ICI Certificate would not be honored. I called Ford Marketing to confirm and was told the same thing, however new PCO will be out in August lasting through the end of the year, but no guarantees I will receive one. Sound pretty crappy that Ford will not honor the deal…
Sorry to hear that.
I paid money down to dealer for a 2021 Ford F-150. They provided a deal sheet with a $2500 private offer. When they called and informed it was in I went to pick it up. While I was waiting on my truck to come in my wife bought a Ford Explorer from another dealer. She received a $750 rebate. When I went to Finance on my pickup they said I lost my $2500 private offer because my wife bought a vehicle at another dealership and the $750 rebate was applied. They did not call the $750 a private offer just a rebate. They said because we shared the same address I lost my private offer. How can Ford allow dealers to do customers like this and expect repeat customers.
Hello Byron,
That is the first that we at DealerKnows have heard that taking advantage of a manufacturer’s rebate at one store negates the Ford Private Offer at another. I’m unaware as to why that would happen. We don’t have a contact at Ford corporate to assist, unfortunately.
Are you aware of Ford’s 22 Model Year Transition Customer Satisfaction Private Offer Program? I understand Ford could not fill 2021 orders, changed those orders to 22 models, and extended purchase discounts to customers for 2022 lineups. Our daughter’s car just arrived; she was never notified that her 2021 Explorer had been converted to. 2022 Explorer. She also did not get any notification of this Private offer which would be great to compensate for the long wait, inconvenience, and expenses she (and we) have incurred because of the long wait. Our dealer is not being helpful. We are 30 years plus Ford loyal customers and family and are feeling very unappreciated. Ford Marketing offered no assistance. It felt like we were getting the runaround. Suggestions? This is the article: https://fordauthority.com/2021/10/ford-dealers-learn-company-cannot-fulfill-some-2021-model-year-orders/
We are unaware of any Ford Private Offers for the 22 model year given the inventory shortage at dealers. As we receive more information, we will share it. Thank you.
