If Stock Photos of Car Buying Were Real…
(Tired of seeing the perverse stock photos of extremely happy people buying cars and enthusiastic car salesmen handing them dangling keys? So are we. So my great friend, Kate Frost, and I created realistic stock photos of the car buying experience.)
A friendly car salesman greets a husband and wife at the beginning of their visit to a dealership.
Car salesman introduces himself to the husband and wife, casually forgetting to shake the woman’s hand.
Wife continues to wait for salesperson to recognize her extended hand. After all, the vehicle is for her.
Wife questions if the salesperson indeed sees her waiting for a handshake, as it becomes less likely he’ll do so.
Car salesman shows a vehicle that isn’t what the customers want, but is on the spiff list.
Car shopper subtly points out the vehicle isn’t what he and his wife desire in color, trim, or even model.
Car salesman hands the vehicle keys to the husband, not the wife who is in the driver’s seat, because of his mildly chauvinistic outlook on life.
Car salesman places his feet on the desk after presenting the numbers on the vehicle.
Husband and wife only slightly confused at the figures the salesman presents them.
Car shopper points out an error in the calculations presented to him and his wife while negotiating on the purchase of the vehicle.
Man is exasperated and overwhelmed during the negotiation of a car sale, though not more than usual.
Car salesman thinking about the close.
Car shopper considers the price of the vehicle.
Wife calmly shares her opinion about the quality of the car deal with her husband.
Husband replies back in kind to his wife about the time invested to buy a car.
Wife lets husband know what she thinks of his response, non-verbally.
Husband signs paperwork for new car while wife considers all options.
Wife causes husband to momentarily second guess his decision to buy the car and get it all over with.
Wife reconsiders both the car purchase and her marriage while husband signs paperwork.
“What else do you want me to do? We’re already here.” husband exclaims as his wife shows slight displeasure.
Wife reluctantly signs a purchase order for her brand new car, knowing full well that she is right about everything and can now hold it over her husband’s head for the next 72 months.
Husband and wife sit forgotten in the sales area, patiently waiting to enter the finance office to complete the purchase of their new vehicle.
Wife learns dealership is almost out of cold coffee.
Husband and wife continue to wait for finance manager to allow them to spend their money on a new car. It’s only been an hour or so since they signed, but what do they expect. It’s a Tuesday.
Regardless of the car buying experience they endured, husband and wife still excited to show off the keys to their new car.
Couple show appreciation and gratitude for the amazing car buying experience.

How much for the “Wife reluctantly signs a purchase order for her brand new car, knowing full well that she is right about everything and can now hold it over her husband’s head for the next 72 months” image?
Every image is $10 USD 🙂
Very funny…and I was cringing while also waiting for that handshake!
Didn’t know you were photographing our last visit to a (Hyundai) dealership.
Ha! It feels like that, am I right?
