A Thank-You Letter for Joe Webb of DealerKnows

Every now and then we receive a fan letter that warrants being shared.  With as much writing, speaking, and videos as we do, it is truly a blessing to get messages like this.  It validates all of our hardwork and efforts, so for that, we thank you.

Good Afternoon Joe,

We have met a few times at Digital Dealer workshops over the last few years. I was at a roundtable you hosted a few years ago, and spoke with you briefly at the last Digital Dealer in Orlando.

I just wanted to thank you. I read your article in the Digital Dealer magazine that suggested internet managers should stand up for themselves and press their GMs/Owners for clarity on their role.

When I came back from Digital Dealer – I submitted a proposal highlighting my past successes and future plans. I was given a raise and was given more support to delegate more tasks to other people so I could focus solely on revenue generating internet activities for sales and service.

Shortly thereafter, the New Car Sales Manager job became available, which I was promoted into. I will still be overseeing the internet activities, but I will be hiring someone to replace me. I am a little sad to be turning over the internet department that I build from the ground up (although I will still be overseeing it) – but I am excited about a better financial opportunity for myself – and I hope that this will push me closer to my ultimate goal of running a dealership.

I brought great results to my store via the internet – but I feel strongly that reading your article helped me accelerate my ascent here. I just wanted to thank you – and let you know that your article affected me – and helped me out professionally!
